April 2005 saw Manchester airport handle 1.95 million passengers, up 0.9% on the April 2004 total. All of the UK airports suffered from an early Easter this year, with BAA's UK airports posting an average of 0.8% increase for the same period.
Bournemouth airport had a very good April. A number of new services have started in recent months, which saw Bournemouth handle 68,782 passengers in April 2005. This was a 73.8% rise on much smaller April 2004 passenger numbers.
Two airports struggling were Nottingham East Midland, which handled nearly 281,000 passengers down 7.6% on April 2004, and Humberside, where passenger numbers dipped 17.55% to 28,718.
