Liverpool Airport busy in run up to Grand National
13.04.12
In the build up to the world famous Grand National steeplechase race at Aintree Racecourse, Liverpool Airport is expecting an influx of race-goers to pass through en-route to this year's three day event. Many of the almost 4,000 passengers arriving yesterday, today and tomorrow on flights operated by Ryanair and easyJet from the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, are believed to be flying in especially to attend the event.
Robin Tudor, Head of PR for Peel Airports said: ‘On the back of last week’s Easter getaway, this will be another busy few days at the airport. The Grand National is always popular with race-goers from Ireland and Northern Ireland, with passengers taking advantage of the many low-cost fares, short flight times and the convenience of flying to Liverpool on their way to Aintree.’
