31.03.07
Cocaine worth £30,000 has been seized at Coventry Airport. Half a kilo of the class A drug was found hidden inside a package containing children's toys.
Customs officers at the Parcelforce International Hub at Baginton found the cocaine after inspecting the package which was sent from Brazil. Smugglers had wrapped the drug in clear plastic and pushed it inside the hollow metal poles of children's wall hangings.
Customs officers have not revealed where the package was destined. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
