Job losses at Coventry Airport
29.10.08
Staff at Coventry Airport have been warned that jobs are likely to go in the wake of holiday airline Thomsonfly pulling out early next month. All 36 firefighters there have been sent letters warning them of possible redundancies in the months ahead. Security guards at the airport have also been told their jobs were at risk.
Sue Lindsay, a spokesman for Coventry Airport, said: ‘I can confirm that we are consulting with a number of staff over possible redundancies due to the downturn in business. We wanted to consult staff as early as possible.’
