Inclusive pricing and seat sale at Wizz Air
26.05.07
Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Eastern Europe, has announced that its advertisements will now feature prices including all taxes and non-optional charges, and has launched a summer sale with up to 30% off selected routes to celebrate.
The airline said that all of its fares in advertisements and on the airline's website home page will be quoted inclusive of taxes, charges and minimum payment handling fee, making it easier for passengers to compare prices.
However, like rival budget airline Ryanair, who also launched inclusive prices this month, Wizz does not quote inclusive prices when it first presents fares via its online booking engine. Taxes and other charges are only added after the customer has entered their personal data, and even then they are not split out so that customers can see what they are being charged for these items, which we found confusing.
The airline is set to start a number of new routes over the next few months to Poland from Stansted (which launch on Monday), Coventry, Durham Tees Valley, Bournemouth and Robin Hood airports.
