Bomb scare near Coventry Airport
20.08.10
Bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion near Coventry Airport on Wednesday after police received reports of a suspicious package. But investigations have revealed the package was not an explosive device.
Police were called to Siskin Drive in the Middlemarch business park at around 17:00. The area around Siskin Drive, which leads from the A45 to the airport, was evacuated, leading to severe congestion on nearby roads during the rush hour peak and throughout the evening. The area was reopened at 02:15 yesterday morning.
