Wizz launch Coventry - Gdansk flights
15.03.08
Coventry Airport welcomed the first Wizz Air flight from Gdansk today, as the Eastern European airline commenced a new three times weekly service between Coventry and Gdansk using an 180 seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
Chief Executive Officer of Coventry Airport, Chris Orphanou, said ‘We are delighted that Wizz Air is adding to its existing service to Katowice with the introduction of new flights to the important Polish commercial centre of Gdansk. The West Midlands region has strong historical links with Poland and these new flights are great news for the Polish community, business and leisure travellers.’
Mike Warton, operations director at the airport, said they hope to attract more carriers and routes.
