Wizz Air axes Poland flights from Coventry Airport
13.08.08
Wizz Air is set to sever its link with Coventry Airport by axing its final route from the hub next month. The airline will axe its three times a week service from Coventry to Katowice in Poland on September 15.
The flights to Katowice were launched with a fanfare of publicity last July and were predicted to be the start of a bright new future for Coventry Airport. Wizz had already stopped its flights to Gdansk in northern Poland in May, just two months after launching them. Its decision to end its Katowice route comes two months after Ryanair announced it was launching its own flights to the Polish city from Birmingham Airport.
