Coventry Airport aviation museum gets Nimrod
12.05.10
The aviation museum at Coventry Airport has added a RAF Nimrod MR2 to its fleet of classic planes. The reconnaissance aircraft saw service during the Falklands War, and will be exhibited as part of Air Atlantique's Classic Flight vintage passenger fleet.
The plane will not remain airworthy, but will be kept in a taxi-able condition at the airbase. A Classic Flight spokesman said: ‘The Nimrod will make a dramatic addition to our collection. It has an important story to tell and we want to preserve an example for future generations of enthusiasts, historians and aviators.’
