Coventry Airport public inquiry to start today
10.01.06
A public inquiry into controversial expansion plans at Coventry Airport begin today. The airport wants to build a new permanent terminal capable of handling up to two million passengers a year.
TUI recently sold the airport to CAFCO Coventry, an Irish and American owned company which intends to continue with the planned development. The airline currently uses a temporary building, but the plans are for a new 10,000 square metre terminal.
The public inquiry is expected to last until Easter. Residents are opposed to the plans and are expected to protest at the town hall in Leamington Spa today.
