Coventry Airport chairman steps down
06.07.06
The chairman of Coventry Airport has stepped down from the job. Bill Savage became managing director when the site's former owners, TUI, which owns Thomsonfly, took over the airport two years ago. He became chairman when TUI sold up to CAFCO-C earlier this year.
Savage oversaw the launch of Thomsonfly passenger services from the airport 2004. He said that when he came to work for the airport nearly three years ago it was for a six-week period and the time was right to move on.
William Charnock, the former managing director of London City Airport, will take over the role. Mr Charnock said: 'I look forward to working with the board and staff to bring our development proposals for a new terminal to fruition as soon as possible.'
