31.03.07
Plane enthusiasts got enjoyed a flypast from the new giant Airbus A380 superjumbo at Cardiff Airport. The massive jet, part of which is made in Wales, is stopping off across the UK as it carries out tests from the Airbus Bristol base and paid a visit to the airport.
A spokesman for the airport said: 'Air traffic control was told it would do a pass over the runway. It approached us from the west, following along the coast, lined itself up with the runway, then dropped down low.'
'The idea is to show people what the plane is all about, so that people can see the aircraft. It's the first visit to Wales and it's shadow took the space of about three Boeing 737s.'
