24 hour delay for bmibaby Cardiff Airport flight

Over 100 holidaymakers touched down in Cardiff Airport more than 24 hours late - forcing many to miss work and cancel other arrangements.
The 140 passengers on bmibaby flight WW2968 from Murcia, Spain, were checked in as normal and queuing to get on the plane when they were told that the plane was broken and they had to wait for it to be fixed, but they were not told how long that would take.
Once it became clear that the flight would not take off on Sunday, the passengers were taken to an airport hotel for the night. They then had to pay €10 for a taxi from the hotel to the airport.
They eventually took off after a delay of more than 24 hours and landed at Cardiff Airport 24 hours and 25 minutes later than planned. Nobody from the airline was available for comment.
