Another Flybe Paris – Cardiff flight diverted
28.07.09
A Flybe Paris to Cardiff flight with 51 passengers on board had to be diverted to Exeter yesterday after being hit by lightning. A plane operating the same route was forced to make an emergency landing at Gatwick last week after filling with smoke, closing the runway for over an hour.
The passengers on yesterday's Cardiff bound flight were transferred onto another plane and continued their journey to Cardiff, arriving at their destination at 14:10, an hour and forty minutes late. The plane was not damaged and no one was hurt.
A spokeswoman for Flybe said the plane landed at Exeter because they have a maintenance depot there - it is the airline's home airport.
