Cardiff Airport support graffiti art project
22.09.10
Cardiff Airport has set up a partnership with Cardiff-based group Peaceful Progress to sponsor The Boiler House Graffiti Project, the first graffiti and street art gallery in Wales. It has been set up to give an exhibition space for untapped talent.
Peaceful Progress, which formed in 2000, has two 100-foot-long graffiti wall spaces to paint at any time, and holds regular graffiti workshops and classes at the Boiler House in Llandaff North, Cardiff. Cassie Houghton, from Cardiff Airport, said: ‘The airport’s Touchdown Committee voted in favour of supporting this project as it fits our criteria of supporting local arts and culture projects.’
Jodie Driscoll, of Peaceful Progress, added: ‘Cardiff Airport’s support for the Boiler House Graffiti Project has enabled us to get the project off the ground and turn an idea into a reality. It has helped us to transform a derelict warehouse into a working Street Art Gallery suitable for the public to visit.’
