Cardiff Airport considering name change
25.06.08
Cardiff Airport is considering changing its name as part of a rebranding exercise, the Western Mail has revealled. It is not the first time it has been suggested, with a similar story published two years ago.
The 60-year-old airport has already gone through several rebranding exercises over the years. It was originally known as Rhoose Airport, before becoming Cardiff Wales Airport and, more recently, Cardiff International Airport.
A spokesperson told the newspaper: ‘We’ve just started looking at our brand and doing some research and the name is part of that. It depends on the research - but it could show it should stay as it is. We’ll have a better idea in a couple of months.’
