Flybe launch check in kiosks at Cardiff Airport
24.06.08
Flybe has installed three self-service check-in kiosks at Cardiff Airport, offering passengers an additional choice at check-in. The airline is the first to invest in this technology at the Welsh hub, which it claims demonstrates its ‘commitment to customer service’.
More than 40 percent of Flybe's customers travelling through the UK use electronic check-in facilities. Business and leisure passengers are expected to benefit from the electronic kiosks, which offer a faster transit through the airport.
Simon Lilley, Flybe's director of marketing, said: ‘We are committed to getting the millions of passengers we carry each year through the check-in process as quickly and efficiently as possible. These machines minimise queuing and really speed things up, allowing passengers to enjoy their travel experience more. We are pleased with the customer uptake, however are not surprised that such hassle free check-in channels are proving so popular.’
Spencer Birns, head of aviation relations at Cardiff Airport, added: ‘We welcome this development from Flybe. This shows the airline is leading the way by investing in new technology to give their passengers more options, making the journey from their local airport an enjoyable experience.’
