bmibaby axe three routes from Cardiff
16.01.11
bmibaby has axed three routes from Cardiff Airport after a fall in passenger numbers. The budget airline said it was ‘regrettably suspending’ services to and from Munich, Jersey and Edinburgh to allow it to concentrate on more popular routes.
The service to Munich was only introduced in October and was expecting to carry more than 10,000 passengers during the winter months. At the time it was hoped the route, with up to three flights a week, would develop business links with Germany.
Flights to Jersey will end on March 25, while the flights to Edinburgh will end on March 27. The last flight to Munich left on January 2. A bmibaby spokeswoman apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers and added those affected would be contacted as soon as possible and would receive a full refund.
