bmibaby axe October Cardiff - Barcelona flights

bmibaby has scrapped a month of flights between Cardiff Airport and Barcelona this winter. The budget airline said that as a ‘summer route,’ the Barcelona flights would normally finish at the end of October anyway, but because of low demand and high fuel prices, they were suspending flights from October 4.
Passengers who already booked and paid for flights have had them switched to Birmingham, nearly 200 miles away. Some have also had their flight dates changed. They have also been offered full refunds.
A spokesman for Cardiff Airport said: ‘We’re disappointed when any airline suspends services. However it’s important to note that Barcelona is suspended during October only and not cancelled as the service was only scheduled to run during the summer period. '
