12.02.08
bmibaby welcomed passengers on its inaugural flight from Cardiff Airport to Warsaw yesterday. To celebrate the start of flights to the Polish capital, passengers checking in for the morning flight were treated to traditional Polish pastries and sweets.
The new flights to Warsaw will operate on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday during the winter and on Monday, Friday and Sunday for the summer. Fares start from £21.99 one way, including all taxes and charges and are bookable online at www.bmibaby.com
Crawford Rix, managing director at bmibaby, said: ‘We have been overwhelmed by the popularity of this route. It is proving popular with the large Polish community in Wales and to those looking for an exciting city break.'
Peter Phillips, head of marketing and communications at Cardiff Airport, said: ‘The support of the Polish community, plus that of business and leisure travellers, and Warsaw's own citizens indicates a bright future for the route.’
