Soldier helps cabin crew resolve air rage incident

A soldier helped restore order on a Thomsonfly flight headed to Cardiff Airport following a violent air rage incident. According to a report in the Evening Post, 29 year old Leighton James, a former soldier, helped cabin crew after a man became aggressive and threatening on the flight, and hit one of the flight attendants.
Mr James told the newspaper that he first spotted the trouble-maker at the airport’s check-in counter, where he immediately got the impression that the man had consumed alcohol. Soon after the flight took off, problems began as the passenger began yelling and frightened passengers started congregating near the rear of the aircraft.
Flight attendants were unable to control the situation and Mr James noticed that a stewardess was sobbing, after having been hit by the irate passenger. With the help of another passenger, he restrained the out-of-control passenger.
The troublesome passenger was restrained for the remainder of the flight, forced to lie flat on several seats. Although the plane continued its journey to Cardiff, it landed ahead of time, in order to hand the unnamed passenger over to authorities as soon as possible. Thomsonfly confirmed that an ‘incident’ had indeed occurred.
