Cardiff Airport road campaigners petition
11.07.09
Campaigners fighting plans for a new link road to Cardiff Airport presented a petition to the National Assembly last week, the Barry News reports. A decision on the road is due to be made by the Welsh Assembly on Wednesday (July 15).
The No Ely Valley Airport Road (NEVAR) group, and Wenvoe campaigners, supported by Vale Plaid AM Chris Franks, gave evidence to the Assembly to say that the case had not been made for the access road. Councillor Franks said: ‘I can see no evidence to support a link to the airport. The airport is reasonably served by transport links and certainly the airport is not complaining.’
