Plane operating Welsh north - south flight renamed

The Jetstream 31 aircraft that provides a daily air service between Cardiff Airport and Anglesey RAF Valley has been given a name. Economy and Transport Minister Dr Brian Gibbons officially named the plane Gogledd a De/North and South.
The name was chosen by operators Highland Airways after a public competition. The two winning entries received vouchers for free return flights for two and were invited to attend the naming ceremony.
The service provides two daily return flights on weekdays between Cardiff International Airport and Anglesey Airport and in the first four weeks of operation carried 1,032 passengers.
On Mondays to Fridays, the service departs Cardiff at 07:30 arriving Anglesey at 08:35 and then returns to Cardiff at 17:40 arriving at Cardiff at 18:45 From Angelsey, the service departs at 08:55 arriving Cardiff at 10:00. It leaves Cardiff again at 16:15 arriving Anglesey at 17:29. On Fridays the departures from both ends are one hour earlier.
Unveiling the new name, Dr Gibbons said the service has improved business links between North and South Wales, created new tourism opportunities and helped to draw all parts of Wales closer together.
