Cardiff Airport runway closed due to snow
09.02.07
Cardiff Airport closed its runway at 11.10 am today (Friday) for snow clearance. Deteriorating conditions at the airport have caused that closure to be extended to 12:45, with no current information on the airport's website on when it might reopen.
The airport says in a statement: 'Inevitably, this will cause delays to flights. However, passengers are asked to check in on time but are recommended to leave extra time to travel to the airport as surrounding roads are congested and difficult. If you are expecting to meet passengers on arriving flights, you are recommended to check the live arrivals service on this website.'
The airport was also closed yesterday between 06:30 and 11:30 due to bad weather which caused delays to all their flights. As it is the rugby airlift weekend there are extra chartered flights that are delayed and also the Welsh rugby team was delayed going to Scotland.
