Cardiff Airport drug smuggler sentenced

A woman has been sentenced for smuggling Class A drugs through Cardiff Airport. Angela Edward, 39, of Camrose Road, Ely, Cardiff, was stopped by Customs officers last November after flying in from Amsterdam.
A search of her baggage revealed a rolled-up cigarette containing cocaine, as well as amphetamines in her jeans. She admitted importing the drugs and received a 12-month community rehabilitation order and an 80-hour community punishment order, plus £100 costs.
