Roadworks near Bournemouth Airport
29.11.11
Work to stop flooding on Parley Lane near Bournemouth Airport is starting today and will take three weeks. The work by Dorset County Council is being carried out following problems with flooding across the road, which is in a national speed limit area and is unlit. Recent site investigations by county engineers have found that the existing surface water drainage system is no longer working and needs to be replaced.
Dorset Highways, the county council’s roads and transport service, will be carrying out the works on a 400-metre section of Parley Lane near the junction with Merritown Lane. Temporary traffic signals will be in place between 09:30 and 15:30, Monday to Saturday. The work is being carried out in off-peak times in order to minimise disruption to traffic, although it is thought it may cause minor delays.
