Bournemouth Airport expansion ‘on course’
22.11.08
The credit crunch and looming recession have led to a tail-off in the number of passengers using Bournemouth Airport, according to reports. However, airport managing director Rob Goldsmith told the Echo figures will soar to new heights next year.
He told the newspaper: 'Last year was a record year for us, with more than 1.1 million passengers passing through the termina. We nw anticipate that passenger numbers will finish the current year slightly down on this level, but we still hope to set a new record for traffic next year, despite the downturn in the economy.'
'We have every confidence in the long-term potential of Bournemouth Airport and we are well under way with our £45 million redevelopment programme. We’re still on target for our 2015 figure of three million passengers.'
