Bournemouth airport will see a number of new routes start today and tomorrow, which will see passenger numbers are double to as many as 1 million a year.
Thomsonfly.com began its first services from the airport on today, to seven destinations including Malaga, Majorca, Paris, Amsterdam and Pisa. Tomorrow Jet2.com begins a daily service from Bournemouth airport to Belfast.
The new routes will boost passenger numbers at the airport from 495,000 in 2004 to over a million in 2005. Up to 100 new jobs have also been created.
The first Thomsonfly flight, to the Spanish city of Valencia, took off at 06:45 this morning.
