Emergency landing shuts Bournemouth Airport

Emergency services rushed to Bournemouth Airport when a small aircraft crash landed on the runway yesterday. Dorset Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 18:45, but arrived after the four-seater Beech Duchess had already come down on its undercarriage.
Five fire crews from Blandford, Christchurch and Bournemouth went to the airport, along with police and ambulance crews. However, None of the three people on board the plane, operated by Professional Flight Training, was hurt. The airport was closed to allow the runway to be cleared, although no commercial flight was due during the time the airport was closed.
