14 people complained to Stansted Airport 9145 times

The noise communication team at Stansted Airport handled 13,956 complaints in 12 months. However, 9195 of the complaints were made by just 14 callers - or 650 per person!
Campaigners fighting the airport's expansion plans said noise remained a 'very real issue', but admitted some people were prone to making complaints on a near daily basis.
Carol Barbone, campaign manager of Stop Stansted Expansion (SSE), said: 'There are some people who complain pretty much every day. We say to people if you want to complain, then complain responsibly - otherwise your complaint might end up being disregarded.'
The airport's noise team is now bracing itself after launching a new scheme giving the public more information about flights overhead and which makes making a complaint about noise easier because they can be filed over the internet. Called 'Webtrak', the new system lets residents view detailed flight plans and figures to back up their concerns surrounding movement from Stansted Airport.
The system, part of a £1.8 million new noise website, aims to give those living near the airport useful and clear information about what they are hearing and why. The system shows the aircrafts' height and location, after a 24 to 48-hour time delay for security reasons.
