Ryanair complete removal of check-desks

Ryanair will complete the removal of all its airport check-in desks this week. All passengers travelling from Thursday will be required to check in online at least four hours and no more than 15 days before their scheduled departure and print their own boarding pass, at a cost of £5 per person per flight.
Passengers checking in hold luggage will have to use Ryanair's new ‘bag drop’ desks (and pay their fee, which was recently increased by 50 percent). A spokesman for Ryanair said the changes will improve passengers' experience of the airport and allow the airline to continue offering the lowest fares.
It has also allowed the airline to introduce a new 'online check in fee'. We have a question on this new fee. Given that this is unavoidable, should it not be included in the published ticket price under EU guidelines?
