Ryanair change domestic flight ID rules
24.09.09
Ryanair is to change its passenger ID rules for domestic flights from October 1. Passengers will no longer be able to travel using only their driving licence as identification.
From October 1 the budget airline will only accept passports and National Identity Cards as valid forms of identification, in a move it says is to ‘reduce confusion’ over what documents passengers can use.
By law passengers are not required to present identification on domestic flights, however, it is a Ryanair policy and a condition passengers click to agree to when they book their flight. The airline stopped passengers using a driving licence for online check-in last May.
