Ryanair issue new Boeing threat
21.11.09
Ryanair will end its relationship with Boeing if it cannot get a preliminary deal on a new aircraft order for the period after 2013 by early December, Chief Executive Michael O'Leary told Reuters yesterday. He said: ‘I am not wasting another Christmas holiday trying to talk to guys in Seattle,’ adding that he saw a deal highly unlikely.
Earlier this month, Mr O'Leary threatened to reduce or cancel orders it has already placed for 200 737-800s if Boeing did not cut its prices for the planes. Asked about the new report, a Boeing spokesman said: ‘Ryanair is a valued customer for Boeing. We cannot comment on any discussions we might have with our customers.’
