Coach fire at Stansted Airport

A driver and eight passengers escaped unhurt when a coach caught fire on Long Border Road at Stansted Airport yesterday evening. The vehicle, which was operated by Excel Coaches, was badly damaged in the blaze, which broke out at the back of the vehicle.
Fire crews from Stansted, Dunmow and the airport were called to the incident about 18:00. A spokesman for the airport fire service, said: ‘We spent an hour there dealing with the fire. It caused considerable damage to the rear of the vehicle.
The cause was probably an electrical fault.'
