Ryanair launch (paid) flight tracking service
18.06.08
Ryanair has launched a new 'Flight Tracker service', which will help friends and families keep track of passengers while they are airborne, delivering flight information directly to Irish and UK mobiles for a fee of £1.50 (€2).
The service sends a text message containing flight status information to UK and Irish mobile phones. The service gives anyone waiting for a Ryanair passenger the latest information and regular updates on the status of the flight in question.
Ryanair's Sinead Finn said arrival information is sourced directly from Ryanair operations. In total, 24 UK airports and 7 Irish airports are covered by the new service.
Sentient Solutions is providing the technology for the system, with Ryanair receiving most of the income no doubt.
