TUI agree to stop screen scraping ryanair.com
16.04.09
TUI has agreed to stop unauthorised screen scraping of the Ryanair website. In a statement today Ryanair said the travel company had agreed to stop the process in settlement of legal proceedings filed against it.
The budget airline said it is now reviewing legal proceedings against Thomas Cook, which it has accused of charging a fictitious £40 ‘fuel surcharge’ and falsely inflating airfares to consumers buying Ryanair tickets.
Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said: ‘This is another victory for Ryanair and consumers. We will continue to fight against screen scraper sites who resell our flights with hidden charges and fictitious fuel surcharges and continue to pursue unlawful and misleading ticket-touts in the courts in the interest of our passengers.’
