easyJet ban Elvis
13.06.10
easyJet has banned Elvis from its planes, the Aberdeen Evening Express reports. Iain Duncan – voted Europe’s best Elvis impersonator – told the newspaper that he was barred from boarding an easyJet flight to Majorca because he felt ill and arrived seconds after the gate closed.
The Elvis impersonator, 47, claimed when he challenged staff he was banned from using the airline - ever ! An easyJet spokeswoman told the newspaper: ‘The standard easyJet policy is to shut the gate 10 minutes before departure. We are investigating the claims made by Mr Duncan about the way that he was handled by the ground staff at Stansted Airport. We will get back to him once this is complete.’
We couldn't resist the temptation to say that Iain was 'all shook up' by easyJet's 'suspicious minds', had said 'don't be cruel', and would probably made the flight had there been 'a little less conversation, a little more action'. Then again, Elvis did have a hit with a song called 'Never been to Spain' !
