Ryanair considering new German bases
09.07.08
Ryanair could easily base planes at a further three to four airports in Germany, chief executive Michael O'Leary told Die Zeit in an interview to be published tomorrow.
He said: 'We see many markets in all big European countries. In Germany, we could easily open up a further three to four bases,' adding that Munich or Berlin would be a good fit. 'However, the airports there must be willing to have us. We will not fly there without an efficient low-cost service.'
Mr O'Leary also confirmed that if the oil price remains above $130, the airline expects to break even in 2008/09. However, he added that he expects the oil price to fall below $100 over the next 12 months.
