Engine trouble for Ryanair Stansted flight
08.04.09
A Ryanair flight bound for Stansted Airport from Bremen in Germany was diverted to Amsterdam with engine trouble. A spokesman for the budget airline told the Herts & Essex Observer: ‘Flight FR3633 suffered an unidentified engine problem in flight. The crew followed safety procedures by shutting down the engine and landing safely at the nearest diversionary airport.’
A spare Ryanair aircraft and engineering crew went to Amsterdam's Schipol Airport to carry the passengers on to Stansted on Monday, leaving Ryanair engineers to examine and make the necessary repairs to the engine. Passengers were provided with refreshments during their four-and-a-half-hour wait.
