Icelandair return to Stansted
07.09.09
Increasing demand for flights between London and Reykjavik has prompted Iceland Express to add another UK airport to its network - returning to Stansted. In response to public demand, the airline will re-commence flights between Stansted and Keflavik International Airport, Reykjavik.
Iceland Express used to fly between London Stansted and Reykjavik until the airline moved operations to Gatwick in May. The new flights will be in addition to the Gatwick service and follows the recent announcement of a new route from Birmingham Airport.
The new Stansted service will begin in November 2009 and will fly twice a week, every Monday and Friday. Matthias Imsland, Iceland Express CEO, said: 'The demand for flights between the UK and Iceland is stronger than it’s ever been, and we wanted to cater for this.'
