Passenger rights event at Stansted Airport tomorrow
06.07.11
The rights of passengers will be the focus of a day of action at Stansted Airport tomorrow (Thursday July 7), the Herts & Essex Observer reports. The UK European Consumer Centre (UK ECC) and the European Consumer Centre for Services have organised the event at the airport where budget carrier Ryanair is the biggest airline.
Experts from the groups will be on hand to offer passengers advice on issues such as cancellations, delays and baggage loss from 07:00 to 14:00. Jed Mayatt, UK European consumer centre manager, told the newspaper: ‘EC Regulation 261/2004 came into effect in 2005, establishing common rules on compensation and help to air passengers.'
'This legislation applies to passengers leaving from airports within an EU country and all those arriving into such airports from a third country where the flight is operated by an EU airline.'
