Ryanair passengers up 9%

Ryanair carried 5.51 million passengers in May, 9% more than a year earlier. Its load factor was up by one percentage point to 81 percent. In the rolling 12 months to the end of May the budget airline carried 59.6 million passengers. Its average load factors was 82 percent.
An airline spokesman said that it carried three times the UK and Europe passengers of British Airways in May, with its passengers up 9%, while BA’s UK and Europe passenger numbers fell by 8% to 1.7 million. He said that 'Ryanair’s continued growth underlines that passengers will no longer tolerate the high fares and fuel surcharges imposed by flag carrier airlines.'
