Ryanair axe Stansted – Pau flights
04.03.11
Ryanair is axing its flights between Pau and Stansted after the French airport rejected its request for extra marking fees. It is switching the service to Lourdes from mid-April.
The budget airline said in a press release that it was ‘disappointed that the managers of Pau Airport prefer to waste their money on CityJet services (this airline will launch flights between Pau and London City Airport on April 1) that fail rather than assuring the growing success of low-cost fares from Pau.
A spokesman said ‘Ryanair is closing its services from Pau and is transferring them, along with their 120,000 high-spending passengers and 120 jobs, to neighbouring airports.’
