Stansted Airport announce £50,000 community fund donation

Stansted Airport will donate £50,000 from its charity fund to a project to form a new green in the village of Hatfield Broad Oak. The one-off donation has been awarded by the Stansted Community Fund, part of BAA Communities Trust, a grant making charity. As part of the scheme the grazing land at the centre of the community will be turned into recreational and sporting facilities.
Bob Wainwright, chair of the Stansted Community Fund, said: ‘We had a fantastic response to the community challenge and we are delighted to be able to make this donation and support the Hatfield Broad Oak Village Green project. The scheme will bring many benefits both to the local community and the environment for generations to come.’
