Stansted consultation group reject flight path changes
02.05.08
Members of the Stansted Airport Consultative Committee (STACC) want flight path planners at air traffic control company NATS to think again about any alterations to the current arrangements. They say that plans, which are currently the subject of a consultation, will adversely affect Bishop's Stortford, the largest town within 10 miles of take-off.
After examining the new proposals for ‘Terminal Control North’ - covering the 12m people in London and the east of England already affected by 2.4m flights and 235m passengers from Stansted, Heathrow, Luton and London City airports as well as 59 other aerodromes - they raised a number of points as part of their response to the public consultation, which ends on May 22.
