Stansted Express to get longer trains

The Stansted Express is to get new longer trains by 2011, in time for the London 2012 Olympic Games. David Johnston, managing director of Stansted Airport, said he was ‘delighted’ with the news.
He said: ‘The arrival of the new trains will help ensure every visitor, athlete and official has the best 'first and last' impression of both Stansted and the UK when attending the 2012 Olympics.'
Mr Johnston added that 47 percent of travellers were using public transport, such as buses, coaches and trains, to travel to and from the airport. Perhaps that is because their airport parking is so ridiculously expensive compared to other airports, as they have a monopoly with virtually no off airport car park competition to keep prices down.
