Southampton Airport passengers up 4.8%

Southampton Airport enjoyed a six percent rise in the number of flights in January compared with the previous January. Passengers were 4.8 percent higher - though this was in part because the previous January's figures were artificially low because of the snow that month.
A BAA spokesman said the UK airport operator was 'pleased' with the numbers at Southampton.
