Southampton Airport passengers up 9.1 percent

The number of passengers flying from Southampton Airport rose by 9.1 percent last month, according to figures released by the airport's owners, BAA. The most popular destination for the month was Edinburgh, with Amsterdam and Paris the most popular international destinations.
More than 127,000 travellers took off from the airport in February, with the half-term week alone resulting in more than 41,000 people flying to holiday and business destinations at home and abroad. In the 12 months to the end of February passengers were up by 4.5% to 1,937,900.
