Emergency landing after plane hit by lightening

A plane has landed safely at Bournemouth Airport after it was hit by lightning in bad weather. The British Airways flight from Southampton Airport to Glasgow was redirected to Bournemouth during an emergency operation on this morning.
The pilot informed passengers of the situation 10 minutes into the flight. One on-board witness told BBC News there was a burning smell and some smoke in the cabin. No-one is believed to have been injured.
Emergency crews attended the scene but were stood down soon after arriving. The flight had been scheduled to leave at 06:45.
