Plane take road trip to Robin Hood Airport

An aircraft is arriving at the training centre at Robin Hood Airport by road on Sunday to help train staff, the BBC reports. A Boeing 727 fuselage is being delivered to the Directions Finningley airport and aviation academy at the airport.
In an earlier life the plane was used by Iberian Airways, but it has undergone major refurbishment to enable it to be used for training purposes. The complete load checks in at 62 tons and measures a total of 37 metres.
Richard Smith, Managing Director of Directions Finningley, told the BBC: 'This fuselage will be a key feature of our plans to develop the academy at Robin Hood Airport. People wanting to develop their knowledge and skills can do so by using real working aviation equipment as opposed to simulated training.'
Don Stewart, Director of Strategy for Yorkshire Forward, added: 'We are investing over £6m into the creation of the academy and have contracted with Directions to develop a world class airport and aviation academy. This investment, together with others made at Leeds Bradford, aims to position this region as a leader in the provision of airport and aviation related training.'
